The Dragon seeds are eggs of the dragons, a predatory race of reptiles that inhabited Natalia during the time of King Whitson Mariner.
History[]
Prince Lander and the Dragon War[]

Namoz Dragonking told King Lander that inside the dragon stronghold there were many dragon seeds, and the dragons only needed to wake them. Once the seeds were woken, which he claimed Lander had only stalled little while, the dragons would conquer the world. At the conclusion of the Dragon War, Lander came into possession of the dragon seeds. He entered the dragon cave and saw countless eggs covering the ground. He subsequently had the Tomb of Lander's Dragons built on Forbidden Island.
Ember Rising[]
Heather Longtreader, in vivid dreams foretelling future calamities, had many visions of the dragon seeds in their tomb, and of a scaled hand grasping hers as she came among them. The first part of this vision came true when Garten Longtreader, after mortally wounding her, dumped her into the tomb where she landed among them. Heather discovered that Smalls is in the tomb with her, and that he was alive despite previous reports of his death.
Ember's End[]
Heather and Smalls learned, after encountering the dragon prince, that they were in the dragon tomb and thus surrounded by a number of unhatched eggs. However, they ultimately discovered that many eggs had been hatched by the dragon prince, in violation of a treaty established between Lander and the last dragon to survive the dragon war. The dragons raised from these eggs were meant to be unleashed upon Natalia as an unstoppable horde. Heather and Smalls thus took it upon themselves to collapse the tomb, destroying the dragons and what eggs remained unhatched.
